A spacious, bright room overlooking the scenic rooftops of Brera in 1+1=1 architects’ Milanese studio was the setting for the 2010 architectural exhibition Awakening.
The title of the exhibition is a message of hope: we hope and wish for the awakening of humankind’s dormant sensitivity towards how the built environment is configured, designed and experienced. the exhibition also offers a space for reflection as it raises questions around the meaning and role of the senses and sensitivity in the digital age.
The underlying theme of the exhibited projects is the relationship between the individual and perceived space.
