With its incomparable blend of modernity and antiquity, Rinascente Roma Tritone department store offers visitors a unique experience. Traversing the contemporary designed areas of the Design Supermarket, its surrounding boutiques and the Tax Free Lounge, visitors journey through 2000 years of history as they find themselves contemplating the majestic beauty of the Aqua Virgo (Acquedotto Vergine in Italian), one of the eleven ancient Roman aqueducts and the highlight of Rinascente Roma Exhibition Space.

Design Supermarket
The Design Supermarket welcomes visitors with lively and fresh atmosphere. Despite the rich assortment of items displayed, its rigorous visual neatness makes the 2000 m2 retail space easy to navigate for an enjoyable shopping experience.

Here are 1+1=1’s simple ingredients: a stylish and functional furniture piece – reminiscent of a modern market counter – in several copies arranged into a regular grid pattern; a soft and relaxing colour palette to create the ideal background for the colourful design items displayed; low partition walls running along the centreline of the white counters, fitted with narrow light features to emphasise the spatial depth of the retail hall.

The Design Supermarket is fenced in by a perimetric Marmorino Calce Naturale stone wall. Carved in the wall are several portals that give access to the surrounding boutiques. The thresholds, frames and lintels of each portal are in Nero Assoluto granite stone. Inset displays with a black lacquered background and white shelves elegantly fit into the perimetric wall.

Tax Free Lounge
The Tax Free Lounge was imagined as Rinascente Roma Tritone’s oasis of calm. For the interior design 1+1=1 chose warm hues, natural materials and soft lights. In combination with a simple and clear geometry of the space, these elements evoke an atmosphere of tranquillity and luxury. A low L-shaped partition clad in Torcino stone divides the lounge in two areas: a working space furnished with desks, and the lounge with a long wooden bench, cushions and soft, luxurious seats.
